In this blog post, I will provide Kartra review. After reading this review, I hope you will know if Kartra is the right choice for you.

This reduces the time spent on solving technical issues, and you can focus on your audience. This platform is useful for beginners as well as advanced users.

Kartra is an all-in-one sales funnel platform; however, sometimes, you might not be the targeted audience for Kartra.

I can only think of three cases when you may not want to use Kartra:

1. Your sales funnel is simple and well established.
2. You are already using a sales funnel platform.
3. You are not selling products that are collecting leads.

If you fall under these three cases, you may not want to consider using Kartra.

You will be offered to watch an introductory video after your first login; this video will walk you through all the sections of the Kartra Page builder. This is a helpful video, and I recommend you watch this tutorial.

Kartra Features

Reviewing all of Kartra’s features in a single blog post is difficult, but I will explain the main features so you can better understand this sales funnel platform.

Kartra Dashboard

When you first log in to your account, you will see the following dashboard:

Since you are new, you will see two choices at the top. If you want to hire an expert for your job, you can do so. Or, if you are interested in learning about the sales funnel, you can do so by logging into the Kartra training portal “Kartraverse.”

You can remove this section after clicking “I got it… No need to show me again.” The next time you will get a clean dashboard.

The left side has Kartra’s funnel elements.  You can click on these sales funnel elements and manage the settings.

My Products

Sales funnels are built to sell products. You can add your product to the Kartra sales funnel after clicking the “+” sign.

You can add two types of products: Main product or Upsell/Downsell. After selecting your choice, you will see the following window:

Here you can enter your product name and description. Afterward, select the payment integration.

You can select PayPal or Credit Card. For credit cards, you can integrate Stripe, authorize.net, etc.

Please note that you must complete the integration process before selecting these options. Then you can move on to the next page.

After this page, you will set up the checkout settings. You can have four types of check out:

1. Kartra-hosted checkout page
2. Overlay pop up window on your site
3. Embed the checkout form into your custom page
4. Your own custom design

I liked their conversion-optimized checkout. Kartra lets you design your checkout the way you like.

Then you can select post-sales action, enable or disable affiliates for the product, and then you will get your button link code to insert on your landing page. Your product is ready to sell.

You have seen how easy it is to design a landing page and add a product. You can design the landing page, set prices, conduct post-sale actions, etc.

Kartra will walk you through the setup process to configure your shopping cart. Configuring it is easy, even if you are doing it for the first time.

You can set up a payment gateway by credit card or PayPal to set the price, trial structure, checkout page, cart abandonment, thank you page, etc.

You can create your email marketing lists here and start your automation and your campaigns.

Email marketing is the best form of content marketing, and its returns on investment far outweigh other marketing channels.

Kartra has its own email marketing service, “Kartra Mail.” It has many advanced marketing features, and you won’t need any other email marketing service while using Kartra’s services.

Kartra provides you with many templates with everything necessary to help you design your marketing emails. Pick a template and change it as per your requirements.

You can create advanced automation with Kartra Mail, such as behavior-based automation. If a subscriber clicks on any link on your email, they will receive a series of emails, and those who do not open should receive another.

You can easily create welcome email automation. If any new subscriber joins your mailing list, they will receive a welcome email and then a series of emails. Other automation can be if a subscriber purchases a product, the promotional automation for the same product should stop, and they shall be transferred to another automation.

In Kartra, workflow automation builders are known as sequence builders. This sequence builder is almost the same as the workflow automation of other email marketing services.

Although Kartra provides you with a lot of automation, they are not as advanced as you will find in ActiveCampaign.

ActiveCampaign email automation is much more advanced. If you are using any advanced automation, I would not recommend you use Kartra email automation.

Kartra also lets you broadcast your message via SMS. If you need to send your message immediately using a broadcast, you can do so.

Kartra is GDPR compliant. The EU enforced GDPR compliance in May 2018. If you have customers in the European Union, you must abide by it.

To create a list, click on the + sign and enter the list name.

Now you have three options, as shown above. Let us click on import leads.

You have three options to import subscribers. Import, file, add manually, and drop CSV or TXT file. You can use any of these methods to import your contacts.

Kartra’s Lead Management System

You can store some information about your subscribers with other email marketing services. Kartra’s lead management is much more than email marketing. It lets you know how your subscribers are interacting with your business.

Kartra’s lead management system shows you:

You can view the complete profile history of a user, open rate, click-through rate, tags, and lead scores. You can see if they have visited any particular page or watched some videos on your page. This information is vital to review and improve your sales funnel.

Kartra has an intuitive page builder that lets you design all these pages with no coding. You can design these pages from scratch or select a template and customize it as per your branding.

Kartra has hundreds of templates for each type of page.

You can add conversion boosting elements on these pages, such as stress scarcity, Facebook and discussion comments, notification bar, and exit-intent pop-ups. These features are useful for getting leads and transferring traffic to a landing page.

The sales copy is the most important feature of Kartra’s landing page templates. Frank Kern wrote sales copy for all the landing page templates himself.

The Kartra page builder is smooth and fast. In my testing, I did not face any issues.

We know that now we get around 70% of traffic through mobile devices, and mobile responsiveness is a Google ranking factor. With Kartra, you don’t have to worry about the mobile responsiveness of your site or pages. All pages designed in Kartra are mobile optimized.

To create a new page, you click on the + sign. It will ask you what kind of page you want to build: for example, a homepage, landing page, thank you page, affiliate page, etc. After selecting it, the Kartra page builder lets you design the page.

For this review, I have selected a squeeze page. Then you have to give the page name and click on create.

If this is your first time, you will see a tutorial to understand the Kartra page builder navigation. After completing the tutorial, you will see the Kartra page builder.

After applying a change, you can click on the action, save your progress, or publish the page.

Kartra allows you to run split tests with your pages. This is an essential element of your sales funnel and can help you significantly increase your conversion rate.

You can have four different variations of the page and run A/B testing. It is flexible, and you can test every element of your page. The element can be call-to-action button text, color, type, placement, or a new landing page. You can test anything.

Other sales funnel software platforms don’t offer this feature in the basic plan, but in Kartra, you get it in the basic plan.

Click on the + sign to create your first split test.

You can select the page to run the split test and divide the traffic. For example, here, I have selected a page for my eBook and divided the traffic 50-50.

Next, you can select the goal and then select how the winner will be picked.

Now your split test is ready and has started running.

In split testing, you create two or more variations of the same page, split traffic, and monitor the performance. Once the test is finished, you will select the page with the best performance.

Kartra’s Heatmaps

Heatmaps help you find your visitors’ engagement with your page. With this information, you can tweak your page to increase conversion. A heatmap is a good conversion enhancement tool. It lets you see the following:

• Where your visitors are clicking
• Average scroll depth
• Average time spent on your page

My Forms

Here you can create the lead generation forms. Once you click on the + sign, it will ask for form fields, and then you can design the form.

An opt-in form lets you collect leads to target them to sell your product or services.

You can design an eye-catching opt-in form using Kartra’s drag-and-drop builder from scratch or using Kartra’s templates. These templates are professional, and you can use them with minimal modifications.

Kartra’s opt-in forms are smart: if a user has filled in the Kartra opt-in form on any other site, the browser will save this information, and when they open your form, all their data will be pre-filled.

Kartra provides you with an embeddable code. If you are using WordPress, you can paste this code and get the same form.

Click on the + sign to create the opt-in form.

By default, it shows two fields, but you can add or remove fields as per your requirements. Make changes here and save them and then click on next.

Then you have to select if you want a single or double opt-in form.

Then you will select the page where you want to show the form, and then you can assign the tag, list, automation, sequence, etc.

Now we come to the design part.

If you want to insert the form on the Kartra page, you will not get the design option as you can design the form on the page itself. But if you select to insert it into a third party, you can open the form builder and design the form.

I selected the second option to design the form. If you are designing the form for the former, you can do it after watching a tutorial.

I have used several other form builders, such as market leader thrive leads, but I found the Kartra form builder smoother and easier to use than others.

Here you can create a fully functional membership site. Once you click on the + sign, it will create a membership site, and then you can set it up quickly.

The membership site brings you consistent and recurring income. You must consider launching a membership site if you have an online course.

With Kartra, you can build a membership site.

Kartra allows you to drip your content. Visitors who join your course will not get total access immediately. You can release the course after some time, so they can understand the value of the subscription and stay with you for a longer period.

To build your membership site, you can use any file, such as video, text, PDF, PPT, and audio. You can have different membership levels with different prices and features.

You can track your student’s progress with a progress tracker. Its detailed analytics show you students’ insights, such as subscription and cancellation rate, average member content progress, and average retention rate.

Here you can upload videos to Kartra. After uploading videos, you can apply multiple settings:

Kartra allows you to host videos. Though you can host videos with YouTube or Vimeo, hosting with Kartra has many advantages.

Free video hosting sites are not as professional as Kartra video hosting. Free video hosting lacks the conversion-focused features that Kartra offers. For example, call-to-action buttons, behavior-based automation, etc.

Kartra has a customizable player. You can auto-play your video, mute on start, add social media buttons, hide the control bar, add a call-to-action button, etc. If you have many videos, you can create a playlist and present them for easy viewing. You can assign a tag to the user based on their behavior with your videos.

You can insert timed calls-to-action, allowing viewers to take certain actions at specific times. For example, you can insert a buy now button when you discuss your product or offer a discount.

You can get detailed analytics data for your video. You can see how many viewers viewed the complete video, linked on your CTA, etc.

However, there is a limitation to the video hosting on each hosting plan, and you have to compress your videos to save space. I recommend you upload your important videos to Kartra and the rest to YouTube and embed them in your sales funnel.

My Calendars

This feature is useful if your business model requires bookings or appointments. Calendars help customers to see the availability of slots and can book, reschedule, or cancel their appointments.

This tool is mobile optimized.

You can approve, reject, or block appointments. You can send automatic reminders, charge customers after they confirm the booking, etc.

If your customer is happy with you, they will remain with you for a longer run. Getting a new customer is more difficult than retaining an old customer.

If you are skilled, you can design your campaign from scratch. However, if you are a beginner, Kartra provides many high-quality, well-designed marketing campaign templates. Each template is for different requirements. You can use them with very few modifications.

These campaigns guide your visitors to make a sale. These campaigns are similar to email automation, where an action of a visitor determines the next step until they convert.

Although Kartra is an all-in-one software solution that provides many integrations, you can use them for some special cases.

For example, let’s say you have a list of 15,000 subscribers and set up many complex workflow automation. In this case, you may not want to move your subscriber to Kartra and prefer to integrate your email marketing service providers with Kartra.

Integrations provided by Kartra is very limited; even ActiveCampaign and ConvertKit are missing.
